“All that glitters is not gold . . .”

There is a beautiful old oak tree, one that the Cheshire Cat frequently visits (well, his ever-grinning mouth does, anyway). One day, as I had finished burying my face in the mossy chest of the fatherly hardwood and smelling the earthy richness of the soft bark, I was delighted to find that the tree was glittering in the sun that had just peeked its head up to say “good morning!” I leaned in to get a closer look, wondering how on earth this beautiful old elder, rooted in the ground, could possibly be so sparkly. As I looked with excitement, I noticed little tiny snails all over the tree. In fact, one had crawled onto my finger to fill me in on a little secrete, er um secret . . .

He told me that the “slime” we tend to turn our noses up at is really a constant labor of love that he and his kin are constantly applying out of their adoration of the Faeries, Sprites, Elves, and other forest creatures, especially the Faerie Godmother because she’s allergic to commercial glitter, don’t you know!

Do you recall the honey-making elephants in the looking glass world? Many people forget about them, but they are there. Hard to imagine forgetting something so large and unusual (even for this strange tale), yet few people recall that Alice spies, what at first she believes to be large honey bees, yet turn out to be elephants (who, in this case, can also make honey): “. . . why what are those creatures making honey down there?  They can’t be bees . . .” Alice is drawn to this breathtaking sight, yet decides to turn around and go a different way, offering “It’ll never do to go down among them without a good long branch to brush them away . . . “ 

The elephants have probed their way into your reading to ask you if you are truly heeding wise caution in avoiding a particular circumstance or conversation, or whether you are letting fear dictate your moves, leading you away from opportunities for growth and deeper appreciation of your internal land of wonder. ​

This is the time for you to take a moment to pay attention to what it is you really want, where your thoughts tend to wander, and how you can refine your thoughts and words to use this powerful time to manifest that which genuinely serves your best interests.
 
Meditation:  Take a moment to sit in silence, just breathing. Call in the query you have brought to this reading.  Imagine what it is you would like to see happen.  What reality would you like to manifest? Once you have an image of this, sit with it. Feel it in your body. Does it feel right? Imagine things playing out as you see them. Does it still feel right? If not, ask what needs to be adjusted for things to flow better. Continue to allow the image to change until your whole body can positively resonate with what you are imagining. Then hold that image in your head and just breathe. How do you speak and move when this new reality is in motion? What is your attitude like? Try them on and practice in your mind. Now, allow this image to get smaller and smaller until it is something you can hold in your hand. At this point you can do several things. You can plant this image, like a seed in the ground, and allow it to grow. You can put it in a bottle and cast it out to see. You can tie it to a balloon and let it float out into the ethers. Whatever way makes sense to you for sending out your message to the universe, let it go.
 

In the days to follow, notice how the elements for this manifestation might show up in your life. If things seem off, or not quite what you expected, do the meditation again, and see if there are any adjustments that need to be made.
